Palmyra by MatSim GmbH ======================== Quality Software Made in Switzerland Palmyra Version 2.5 for Windows (Windows XP and Windows 2000). November 2004 Palmyra for Windows was compiled on Windows XP with SP 1. It is optimized for - Intel Pentium 4 Nvidia Quadro 4 - AMD XP2100+ with Nvidia GeForce 2MX 1. Installation of Palmyra The Palmyra software, including a materials database and the example used for the first project in the user's guide tutorial, is packed in a zip archive file pa_windows.zip. You must unzip this file and extract to a directory that is accessible by all users of the product, e.g. \Program Files\Palmyra. Your directory should then contain the following files and directories: > ComputerId.exe Tool to determine your computer id and name. This data has to be sent to sale@MatSim.ch in order to obtain a license file. > Palmyra.exe The Palmyra executable file. > ReadMe.txt This file. > examples (directory) Example files for your first project described in the user's guide. > guide (directory) User's guide in hypertext format; you can open the file PaGuide25.htm with any Web browser or you may print the file PaGuide25.pdf in Portable Document Format. > materials (directory) A few materials properties files that can be used for components of a multi-phase composite. The material's data in this directory was compiled from various sources. If not stated otherwise the values are given at room temperature. No warranty is granted that the values for various properties are correct. 2. License key: license.txt In order to run the Palmyra.exe file a license key must be obtained. Run the ComputerId.exe program where you plan to use the software (typically a powerful server) and send the computer id and server name to sale@MatSim.ch. You will then receive the license.txt file that must be copied into the same directory where Palmyra.exe is located. The license.txt file allows to run Palmyra in as many instances as specified and up to the expiration date. 3. Known problems 1) On some graphics cards Palmyra crashes upon resizing the graphics viewer. 2) On some graphics cards dashed and dotted lines are not shown (for instance y, z coordinate axes). 4. Deviations of Palmyra 2.5 for Microsoft(R) Windows from the User's Guide of Palmyra 2.5 2.6 View Background Color The standard Microsoft(R) Windows color editor is used. 2.13.4 Interrupting long operations (STOP BUTTON) There is a STOP BUTTON only for the solver dialog. 7. Batch Processing No batch dialog displayed in visualize mode. 9. 4. Running Palmyra Argument "-first" not understood ("Palmyra -first").
